Modalu appointed YKG to design their concessions stand within a high end Korean department store.
The department store set the canvas for the design with high gloss floors and bright lighting. Therefore, the mobile units created for the handbag display reflected this materiality with high gloss reflective dark panels edged in metal. The units were finished in places with a dark salmon velvet and additionally back lighting.
One of the stand alone shelf units was draped over with a curtain next to an ornate lamp post to create a ‘false window display’ within the store, creating an illusion of an exterior window facade within the shop floor.
